I'm submitting my ACT score to Brown, and although 2 subject tests are only required if you're sending SAT I, can I send just one SAT II (Math II- 770) on top of my ACT score?
Thanks :)

Brown Second Interview?
Hello!
I'm a Brown RD applicant and I was contacted for a second interview today. I had never heard of them before, but as far as I can tell, they're for applicants who are on the fence.
I have no idea how my first interview went, but I'm now leaning towards assuming it went badly because I have above average stats. For my first interview, I went to an interview day, where you're assigned an interviewer randomly on the spot. This time, a Brown alum texted me. I googled her, and found out that she is the same person who interviewed me last month. I'm not sure if she remembers, but I'm worried it will influence the second interview.
Has anyone else been asked about a second interview? Should I be concerned about having the same interviewer twice?

Interviews- How are we contacted?
I applied to Brown RD, and I still haven't received an alumni interview request. I'm an international student, so I thought that it was possible there were no alumni interviewers in my area. However, some of my classmates received an email request for an interview a couple of days ago.
Is the delay normal? Would I be requested for an interview? Was there anything wrong with my application? Or, are interviews sorted based on last name?

Chance me if I were to apply ED?
Objective:
SAT I (breakdown): 2180 (760 CR, 710 W, 710M).
ACT (breakdown): 34 (36E 34R 34S 30M)
Unweighted GPA (out of 4.0): School doesn't give that, I have a 94.88. Weighted is 98.32
Rank (percentile if rank is unavailable): Second cohort group (for 97-100 average, 100+ is top). That puts me around top 20%, probably close to top 15%
IB (place score in parenthesis): I am taking a full IB diploma course load Junior Year Course Load: Regents Physics, IB Mathematics SL, IB HOTA HL, IB Theory of Knowledge, Science Research, IB Spanish HL, IB Chemistry HL, IB English HL
Major Awards (USAMO, Intel etc.): Nothing major as of now, a bunch of Model UN delegate awards though. Also selected to present science research at an ISEF affiliated fair (competitive to get into through my school) and had another project accepted by a local, competitive psychology fair. I might try to publish that on a student psychology website (BrainStamp.Org)
Subjective: Extracurriculars (place leadership in parenthesis): Model UN (Director-General), Debate Team (club no longer exists, but I was a member 9th and 10th), Political Activism Club (Treasurer), Science Olympiad, Independent Model UN Team (Co-head delegate, I created this with my friends because our school doesn't let us attend many conferences and makes us jump through a lot of hoops to do anything. We've been very successful).
Job/Work Experience: NA
Volunteer/Community service: Mentor in a social skills group for kids with autism spectrum disorders, I've been doing this for years.
Summer Activities: 2015 Hofstra University Summer Science Research Program (pretty selective, I got to work with a professor in their Psych department) and a summer internship this past summer in an oncology/hematology lab at Weill Cornell Medical College where I conducted a research project. I will be going back next summer. I did psychology research with an NYU professor, concerning facial emotion recognition.
Intended Major: Biological Sciences or Chemistry
State (if domestic applicant): NY
Country (if international applicant): US
School Type: Large public Ethnicity: White
Gender: M
Hooks (URM, first generation college, etc.): I wish
Thank you!

How good is Brown's Undergrad CS program?
I can't find "official" rankings like US News for undergrad programs, just graduate. I did some googling, and I saw a couple people saying that it was like the best in the country with the likes of Stanford, Berkeley, etc. Are there any rankings out there that I missed? What's the general consensus if you know?

Linguistics at Brown
My son is a junior this year and is thinking about applying Brown. His passions lie in Languages, Linguistics and Music. He is in his fourth year of both French and Spanish and plans to be fluent in both Languages before college and then plans to learn one or two more in college. He has some Swahili and Hebrew under his belt, but I think his plans are to pursue Arabic and German next. He also loves linguistics and studies that on his own time. He is thinking about a double major in Language and Linguistics (perhaps a minor in music although he really plays for himself and doesn't plan to make a career of it). Can any of you out there give us any information on the Language and Linguistics programs at Brown? Is it particularly strong/big/small etc. How are the professors in these areas? We would love any and all info anyone has to offer. Thanks!

Wanna know my chances
Brown's my top choice, and I'm planning on applying ED. Here are my statistics:
Girl, junior.
SAT: 2250 (CR800, WR770, M680)
GPA: 4.0 out of 4.0 (unweighted)
I go to a magnet high school where there's no class rank. My school doesn't offer any AP courses, aside from Calculus. I'll be taking that next year. I'm taking the most rigorous course load available to me.
In-school extracurriculars:
National Honor Society
Film Club
Radio Club (host a music/talk show)
Editor of the Lit Mag
Opinion Writer for the newspaper
Out-of-school extracurriculars (only what's currently ongoing):
President and founder of a non-profit art/film program for kids in underserved neighborhoods. Operating out of one middle school right now, but working on expansion.
Senior Intern at the Democratic Party
Big Brothers Big Sisters of America
Cashier at a pizzeria
I'm a first-generation American. I speak Russian, Spanish, and English. I don't play on any sports teams. I'm planning on majoring in English or Urban Studies, and I'll hopefully go to law school.
That's all I can think of right now. I'm interested in hearing an honest perspective. Thanks!!

Letter of Continued Interest Questions
Hi I have two questions about the LOCI.
1) When should the letter be sent by? ASAP or around February?
2) Ik a LOCI should update Brown on recent achievements, but I really have none (I'm still in all the ECs I listed in the common app and nothing much has changed.) Would it be bad if I just poured my heart into the letter saying why Brown is my dream school? Or would that not add anything to my application?
Thanks in advance.

Brown University Class of 2020 PLME Applicants (RD Only) (Accepted EDs welcome to give advice)
So, I could not find a PLME Applicant discussion, so I made one!
If you want to, you can share:
1) Why are you applying to Brown? Why PLME?
2) Which school are you applying to? What is your intended major?
3) Where did you apply for EA/ED?
4) What are your qualifications?
5) What are your hobbies/interests/extracurriculars?
6) (For both RD and ED) What tips/advice do you have for applying?

Confused - is my application complete?
So when I'm checking my portal, all the items like Common App, transcript, recs, etc. have a date in the "Received" column (Dec. 7th, btw,) but in the second "Status" column, all of the spots are blank except for application fee where it says "paid" and ACT test where it says "Requirement fulfilled." Do these blank spots mean my application was never actually finished, or am I just reading too much into this? Also, at the top, it still has that gray box that says "We are continuing to process application materials for you. The volume of mail and online submissions is extremely high in the weeks around our application deadlines. Please continue to check back on this site for updates to the status of your application checklist," and so on. I never received any email or anything saying my application was incomplete or needed some pieces like I did for another one of my schools, so I just wanted to check that this doesn't mean I completely screwed this up before I bother admissions with an email. Thanks!

Can I have some feedback on my profile?
Hello,
I am an American currently in my Junior year (High school class of 2017) , who has been living outside the US for the past 7 years. I am currently living in my 4th country that is outside the US. Over the course of these past 7 years I have been attending private international schools. Now I am a junior in Hong Kong, and have a current GPA of 3.5. I know it seems bad, but its higher than my schools average (its EXTREMELY academically competitive) I currently have an New SAT score of 1400 (as of my first test), but I am aiming to push it over 1500. Ive been trying really hard to keep my grades up, as I have been constantly switching back and forth from AP and IB schools--so curriculums differ.
I think I have the potential of writing a really interesting personal essay as I am a second generation third culture kid. I want to pursue a major in political science and am exclusively looking at schools in the New England + New York region. What are my chances of getting in to an Ivy? I am taking 9 APs by the time I graduate, all of them rigorous (APUSH, APWorld, APGov, APCompGov, APStats, APMicroEcon, AP MacroEcon, AP Lang&Comp, APLit)
GPA: 3.5 (high for my school)
SAT: greater than or equal to 1400 (new SAT)
ECs: *moving around a lot has made it hard to keep my ECs consistent and take on leadership roles*
MUN for 4 years (leadership roles too)
Cross Country 1 year
Board member+founder of online school newspaper 3 years
Reporter for school newspaper 3 years
Student Ambassador 1 year
Debate Team 1 year
School Medic Team
Humanities Tutor
Monologue Competition Winner
Regular participant in charity runs
Honor roll student 2 years
Treasurer of Interact Club 1 year
Habitat for humanity 1 year
Soup kitchen volunteer+coordinator 1.5 years
UNICEF member
Elected speaker at various IB events
Former Intern at BBC
Former Intern at Viet Nam News Agency

Are Brown Likely Letters a Guarantee?
I applied RD to Brown and received a likely letter in the mail yesterday. Has anyone else received one in the past or this year, and if so, did you get in? Since I'm taking a similar courseload with similar first semester grades this year, can I safely assume I'm in? Thanks.

Second Semester Grades --- will they revoke acceptances?
I was accepted ED to Brown, and have major seniorities. So far throughout high school I've gotten all As, do you think they revoke acceptances for Bs? Like 3 As and 3 Bs or 4 As and 2 Bs? Hate to be snobby and overly anxious about this but it would be HORRIBLE to lose my dream school.
