Chinese male (no hooks) upper middle class in MA SAT: 1560 (760 R 800M) Math II SAT: 800 Latin II SAT: 800 GPA: 3.8 UW 4.73W ( top 10%) Took 8 APs (most possible) - 5 on APUSH, Lang, Chem and everything else I'm taking now) Interested in economics/classics (currently junior) ECs (quick overview): Latin personal blog (collection of 1000 short poems) Science Olympiad (1st Harvard, 4th Brown, 2nd States (consistently)) Started a company through a program (Sold ecofriendly bags, head of finance department, raised 600$ profit, expecting to win near state competition) Classics Club Officer (Placed ok in Harvard Certamen and helped co-founders start) Calculus Project Volunteer (Helped teach underpriveleged math and brought them to field trips) Tennis team (varsity, 1st doubles; place well in states) Badminton team Captain (2nd, 3rd, 4th at states) Local Chinese School head of intern (management) Mayor's Summer Internship (worked under a starting tech business) Science Bowl B-team Captain (Nothing special) Hoping to publish a Latin short story to a website Honors: National Latin exam Gold medal 3X 2nd place in national haiku contest Bronze Presidents Award (maybe include my science olympiad/badminton stuff here instead?) LOR: Latin and history (nothing special) Essays: Haven't written it yet but it will be about how I kept trying to find my passion and never found "one" (realized that my passion was actually learning and finding connections between every subject). I consider myself a good writer. Brown has been my absolute first choice since freshman year. However, I fear that my application is all over the place (which I optimistically think goes along with my essay and Brown's values). Be brutal and honest! Thanks!
